Sharp Memories

soft blue gown
for my trip to the altar -
"voluntary"

~

worn-out deck of cards
abandoned on the shelf
shouting in the hall

~

"no sharps" noted
on every meal receipt:
words still make a knife

~

new neighbor leaves
the door open more
identical rooms

~

those with keys
and those without
sunlight
